All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. Additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter. Additional drivers must sign the rental agreement. An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers. The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick up location.

Customer must pre-arrange after hours service in advance. After hours service is available at some locations.

Minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 and no maximum age applies. Additional drivers under 21 and over 18 are not eligible for Deductible Protection or Maximum Coverage and double deductible will apply for all coverage.

Unrestricted Driving in Costa Rica. Renters wishing to visit Nicaragua or Panama must prearrange at time of rental for a vehicle exchange at the border. A three -3- day minimum notice is required. Customers can only rent the following vehicles- CCMR, CDMR, CCAR, CDAR and IFMR. Upon vehicle exchange at the border, the original agreement is closed and a second rental agreement is issued by the other country -same rate is applied-. A vehicle exchange fee totaling 50 USD assessed. When the renter returns to Costa Rica, the same process applies plus an additional 50 USD exchange fee. Renters not planning to return to Costa Rica must notify the rental location in Costa Rica when prearranging the vehicle exchange.

All one way rentals must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. One way charges apply and are payable at the time of rental. One way charges cannot be prepaid.

Collision Damage Waiver–Theft Protection (CDW-TP) is not insurance. The rental location requires CDW-TP protection to rent a vehicle, unless you present written proof that your credit card provides collision and theft protection. If you purchase CDW-TP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility for all or part of the cost of damage to, loss or theft of the vehicle during the rental period in Costa Rica, unless you invalidate the coverage as provided in the rental agreement. A deductible of up to $1,500 for CDW depending on car class, and a deductible of $2,000 for Theft Protection will apply

As a customer you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel. Option 1- Prepay Fuel This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused gas. Pre-paid gas is available at 5 percent less than the local fuel prices Option 2- We Refill This option allows the renter to pay National at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices. A 50 percent surcharge will apply. Option 3- You Refill This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.

The purchase of Primary Liability Coverage PLI is always mandatory. It can not be declined by any Credit Card. The PLI deductible is 20 percent of total damages to the third party property. PLI is only valid when rental vehicle is in Costa Rica. This coverage combined with Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection conform the Mandatory Basic Protection. Payment of deductibles apply. PLI provides you with minimum financial responsibility limits as outlined in the applicable motor vehicle financial responsibility laws of the country where the vehicle is operated. PLI covers Ambulance Service, Doctors, Hospitalization and Nurses for third parties with a maximum limit of 130,000 USD per event. Accident Deductible Protection AP may be purchase as an additional protection besides the basic CDW-TP and PLI, and all together will reduce renters Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection and PLI deductibles to USD 0. Theft Deductible Protection TDP reduces renters deductible in case of theft to USD 0. To take Theft Deductible Protection, client must take Accident Protection too. The combination of both will reduce deductibles to USD 0.00. Tire and Windshield Protection TWP Tire and Windshield Protection waives customers liability in the event of damage to tires, windshield or windows. Roadside Assistance RSP - If selected and paid for at the time of rental, Roadside Assistance is available 24-7 without additional charges. RSP includes towing not related to an accident, flat tire service - if no inflated spare is available, vehicle will be towed- and lockout service if keys are locked inside the vehicle. Jumpstarts and fuel delivery service for up to 5 gallons or equivalent liters of fuel is also provided. Tire damage beyond repair as a result of driver neglect is the responsibility of the renter.

Loss Damage Waiver-LDW- includes SLC and Theft Protection. The purchase of LDW is mandatory and required in order to rent a vehicle. You may purchase mandatory LDW for an additional fee. If you purchase LDW- we agree- subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate LDW- to contractually waiver your responsibility for all or part of the cost of damage to- loss or theft of the vehicle. If LDW is declined- the customer will be responsible for the full value of the damage- loss due to accident or theft. If LDW is declined for all vehicles- customers must pay with a credit card that includes the coverage. Costa Rica must be able to confirm that LDW is included. Credit card coverage does not cover SLC. If LDW-TP is declined then SLC is mandatory. LDW deductible of 800 USD applies to Mini to Midsize vehicles and 1500 USD for Standard SUV and above.

A passport in addition to a credit card with available credit and in the renters name must be presented. The signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card. In addition- if the renter has an online transaction the number and name printed on the card presented by renter must match the name and number stored for the online transaction. Credit Cards honored- American Express MasterCard VISA Diners Club. An authorization on the credit card of the amount equivalent to deductibles – 800 USD to 1500 USD- depending on car class rented plus estimated cost of rental will be taken at the time of rental. This authorization amount may be used toward damages of vehicles or rental charges. In case that customer declined LDW- the amount hold on credit card will be 2000 USD plus estimated cost of rental. Debit or check cards are considered to be any non-credit card American Express MasterCard VISA Diners Club or Discover logo. Debit or Check cards are not accepted at this location. Cash is not accepted at this location.

Must meet the locations minimum age requirements. Present a valid drivers license. Present a major credit card in the renters name at the time of rental.

The purchase of Supplemental Liability Coverage is mandatory if LDW is declined. Supplemental Liability Coverage covers the clients liability to third parties resulting from auto accident in rented vehicle for property damage other than to the rental vehicle-up to 11000 USD. SLC also provides accidental death and medical expense benefits resulting from an accident for the amount established by a Costa Rican court of up to 9000 USD per person and up to 225000 USD per accident for third parties. SLC does not cover the renter or relatives or any immediate household members- nor other passengers in the rental vehicle. SLC has a deductible of 20 percent or 250 USD minimum. SLC is only mandatory if LDW is declined.
