Additional Drivers - There is an additional charge of 10 GBP per day for each Additional Authorised Driver.

AGE - All drivers must be a minimum of 25 years old. Only drivers over 30 years old may rent Full-Size MPVS, Premiums, or Four-Wheel Drives.

For vehicles travelling to the Republic of Ireland, there is an additional charge of 75 GBP per rental. Please call the branch in advance. Vehicles may not travel outside the U.K. and Ireland.

Damage waiver is included in the price of the rental, subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. Damage waiver reduces the amount you are responsible for in the event of damage to and or theft of the vehicle. The excess amounts applicable with damage waiver are- all cars – 1000.00 GBP- MINI MPVs, MPVs and commercial vehicles - 1150.00 GBP all premiums and 4x4s equals 1400.00 GBP.

Domestic Retail One-Way rentals made in the U.K. are allowable. All consumer One-Way rental reservations for both National will carry a One-Way charge, which will be dependent on the distance travelled. A penalty charge of GBP 150.00 will apply to all rentals dropping off a One-Way rental into St Pancras (this also includes all London stations). One- ways between Mainland U.K. and Northern Ireland are permitted and cost GBP 150.00 + VAT. The following conditions apply for Northern Ireland: 1) Intermediate and Fullsize Passenger Vans (IVMR and FVMR) and automatic vehicles (CCAR (Compact), SDAR (Standard), PDAR (Premium), PWAR (Premium Wagon-Estate), LDAR (Luxury) and IXAH (Intermediate Special)) are not allowed to be used for One-Way rentals from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland or UK Mainland. 2) GPS must not be left in vehicles terminating in any location in the Republic of Ireland or UK Mainland stations. The full loss of deposit will apply. One-Ways are not permitted between the Mainland U.K. and the Republic of Ireland. One-Ways between Derry and Belfast locations = GBP 40.00 + VAT. One-Ways between all other Northern Ireland locations are free of charge. One-Way rentals are permitted from any Northern Ireland location to the following locations in the Republic of Ireland:- to Dublin = GBP 150.00 + VAT. To: Cork, Knock and Shannon = GBP 450.00 + VAT. All One-Way rentals to and from UK Mainland into Northern Ireland are subject to availability. International One-Ways are NOT permitted.

In the event of damage and or theft, an excess is applicable which varies depending on vehicle type and location. Excess Protection will cover up to 900.00 GBP of any damage, subject to terms and conditions of the rental agreement. The customer can reduce or eliminate possible financial exposure caused by loss or damage to the rental vehicle. The following excess amounts apply, all cars 1000.00 GBP, MINI MPVs, MPVs 1150.00 GBP, commercial vehicles 1150.00 GBP, commercial vehicles in Northern Ireland 1400 GBP, premiums and 4x4s 1400.00 GBP. Excess protection is an optional coverage that allows the renter to reduce the excess responsibility by 900 GBP. The price of EP varies by vehicle size and the prices are inclusive of VAT - premium location fee applies to airports - all vehicles except commercials - 11.99 GBP per day, Small Commercial Van - 14.99 GBP per day and all other Commercial Vans - 19.99 GBP per day.

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and it is the customer's responsibility to return the vehicle full or pay for any missing fuel at the end of rental. On rentals of 4 days or longer we recommend that you add the cost of a full tank of fuel to our rental charges at time of pick up. This method eliminates the need for you to refuel the tank prior to returning. The fuel amount charged at time of rental will be based on a market competitive price and the car model rented. We are unable to issue a refund for unused fuel. A fuel deposit is not required.

Emerald Club customers can earn credits on qualifying rentals and redeem free days at this location. Note: Emerald Club members can earn credits on National and Enterprise brand rentals, but can only redeem at National brand locations

Drivers must have held a full national licence for at least 1 year, which must be presented at time of rental. Visitors to the UK - All visitors to the UK must present a full valid license. Licences issued overseas must be clearly identifiable as a driving licence, otherwise an International Driving Licence will be required. A Passport must also be produced if not a UK resident. UK residents who hold the new photo card licence must also present the paper counterpart at the start of the rental. Endorsements are only shown on the paper counterpart so customers MUST produce both documents. Holders of the old style UK paper licence must also provide an additional form of photographic ID in the form of a Full Valid Passport, Armed Forces ID Card or a Police Warrant Card, no other form of identification will be accepted. UK residents that hold a non-EU licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time you become resident. After 12 months your overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent. UK residents that hold a non-UK EU licence, your License is valid until the age of 70 or for 3 years after becoming a UK resident, whichever is longest. A renter holding a non-UK licence must produce a full valid passport at time of rental. Holders of any licence that does not show the current address must also produce proof of current address in the form of a Current Credit Finance Agreement, Current Utilities Bill, or Current Bank Statement. All renters with a UK home address will need to pass an Authenticate check as verification of residence at their given address. Any customer failing an Authenticate check will not be allowed to rent.

Mileage- all vehicles include unlimited mileage.

Payment- if the rental is not prepaid, the renter must pay a deposit and the full rental charges using a major debit or credit card in his or her own name. If the rental is prepaid, the renter must pay a deposit using a major debit or credit card in his or her own name. The deposit is 200 GBP, or 500 GBP if renting a premium vehicle. Payment by a credit card in the main drivers name will be required to rent premium vehicles . If the debit or credit card differs from that used to prepay the rental charges, an additional 200 GBP deposit is required.

National offers Roadside Assistance Protection – RAP. RAP allows National customers to waive all financial responsibility for the following - tyre and glass repair or replacement costs, except when part of a larger repair, replacement keys and costs, and all recovery and call out charges imposed by our chosen roadside assistance providers as result of a fault caused by renter error. RAP does not exempt you from these charges if there is any breach of our rental agreement. The price of RAP is 4.99 GBP per day.

Documentation- all drivers must produce all parts of a valid driving license. Non-EU license holders are required to have an international driving permit if the license is not in English. Domestic renters must produce a photo ID- passport or driving license. International travelers must produce a passport, proof of return travel and residency information while in the U.K. renters who wish to use a debit card are also required to produce two proofs of address such as a bank or credit card statement, which are less than three months old and may be subject to additional checks. We reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further ID checks. These may include ID checks with external partners who may check supplied details against databases to which they have access.
