All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. Additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter. Additional drivers must sign the rental agreement. An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers. The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick up location. Note- State law in California, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, and Wisconsin allow the spouse to be an automatic authorized driver as long as renter requirements are met.

Minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21, except in NY and MI, where the minimum age to rent is 18. Rental rates may be higher for renters and additional drivers under the age of 25. To view young driver fee, please go to the reservation page and select the location. Certain specialty and larger sized vehicles may not be available for rentals when the renter or additional driver is under 25.
This reservation is being made with a Contract ID number (CID) assigned to a Corporate Account for use exclusively by its eligible renters. Use of this CID by individuals other than eligible renters is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action. Renters using this CID may be required to show proof of employment or authorization (such as a business card, current email with company domain, work order, etc.). Questions about acceptable proof of employment or authorization should be directed to your Travel Manager.
Notice and Acknowledgement Regarding Chain/Traction Law. Renter is solely responsible for compliance with all chain/traction laws, statutes, regulations, and ordinances, including but not limited to C.R.S. Section 42-4-106. Owner makes no representations or warranties that Vehicle complies with any chain/traction law, statute, regulation, or ordinance. As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
Option 1- Prepay Fuel
This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused gas.
Option 2 - We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay National at the end of the rental for gas used but not replace. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.
Option 3- You Refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.
Important Note- For Europeans booking in the US and Canada, unless included in the rate package, payment for a tank of gas will be required at time of rental. No refund will be issued for fuel purchased but not used. The total prepaid fuel charge reflected is an estimate based on current prices and the average tank size for the car class reserved, and may change at time of rental.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is not insurance. The purchase of LDW is optional and not required in order to rent a vehicle.
You may purchase optional LDW for an additional fee. If you purchase LDW we agree, subject to the actions that invalidate LDW listed on the rental agreement, to contractually waive your responsibility for all or part of the cost of damage to, loss or theft of, the vehicle. DW does not apply to damage occurring in Mexico.
When deciding whether or not to purchase DW, you may wish to check with your insurance representative or credit card company to determine whether, in the event of damage to, or theft of, vehicle, you have coverage or protection for such damage or theft and the amount of your deductible or out-of-pocket risk.
Emerald Club customers can earn credits on qualifying rentals and redeem free days at this location. Note: Emerald Club members can earn credits on National and Enterprise brand rentals, but can only redeem at National brand locations
A valid drivers license from the customers country of residence is required and must be presented at time of rental. The drivers license must be valid for the entire rental period.
If the drivers license is in a language other than English, an International Driver's Permit is required along with the drivers license.
Exceptions-
- Japanese travelers may use the Japanese Drivers License Translation Service, which replaces the need for an International Drivers Permit.
- At all California, Nevada and Phoenix-area airports and rental locations, renters with drivers licenses issued outside of the United States or its territories must produce a valid Passport. US Territories include American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Midway Islands.
Deplaning Passengers
Debit cards are accepted as payment at our airport rental locations at the time of rental with a round-trip travel ticket i.e. cruise ship, train or airline, e-ticket, or travel itinerary that shows the renters name as well as discloses a return date and port of entry.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE-PERSONAL EFFECTS COVERAGE, PAI-PEC IS OFFERED AT THE TIME OF RENTAL FOR AN ADDITIONAL DAILY CHARGE. IF ACCEPTED THE PAI CONTAINED IN THE POLICY PROVIDES RENTER AND RENTERS PASSENGERS WITH ACCIDENTAL DEATH, ACCIDENT MEDICAL EXPENSES AND AMBULANCE EXPENSE BENEFITS. THE PEC CONTAINED IN THE POLICY INSURES THE PERSONAL EFFECTS OF THE RENTER, ADDITIONAL DRIVERS, OR ANY MEMBER OF THE RENTERS IMMEDIATE FAMILY WHO PERMANENTLY RESIDES IN THE RENTERS HOUSEHOLD AND WHO IS TRAVELING WITH THE RENTER AGAINST RISKS OF LOSS OR DAMAGE. BENEFITS ARE PAYABLE IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER INSURANCE COVERAGE THE RENTER OR PASSENGERS MAY HAVE. THIS IS A SUMMARY ONLY. PAI-PEC IS SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS, LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS OF THE PAI-PEC POLICY UNDERWRITTEN BY EMPIRE FIRE AND MARINE INSURANCE COMPANY OR EMPIRE INDEMNITY INSURANCE COMPANY DEPENDING ON THE RENTAL LOCATION. All drivers must be at least 25 years old. The van cannot be operated or used in Canada. The van does not meet federal school bus safety standards and therefore cannot be used to transport children in the 12th grade or younger, other than family members, for school related functions. If renting in California, each driver of the van shall possess the requisite driver’s license necessary for operating the van, dependent on usage and or organizational status of the renting company. If the van is used for transporting passengers for hire or profit or by any nonprofit organization or group, all drivers of the van shall possess a valid Class B license with a passenger transport endorsement. If the van is used by any public or private school or school district, including any California community or state college, as governed by section 39800.5 of the education code or section 10326.1 of the public contract code, all drivers of the van shall possess a valid Class B license with a passenger transport endorsement. Personal Accident Insurance/Personal Effects Coverage (PAI/PEC) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, the PAI contained in the policy provides renter and renter's passengers with accidental death, accident medical expenses and ambulance expense benefits. The PEC contained in the policy insures the personal effects of the renter, additional drivers or any member of the renter's immediate family who permanently resides in the renter's household and who is traveling with the renter against risks of loss or damage. Benefits are payable in addition to any other insurance coverage the renter or passengers may have. This is a summary only. PAI/PEC is subject to the provisions, limitations and exclusions of the PAI/PEC policy underwritten by Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company in the United States or CHUBB Insurance in Canada. The purchase of PAI/PEC is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by PAI/PEC may duplicate the renter's existing coverage. The following forms of payment are accepted at the end of the rental VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Network, or Debit Card.
If accepted, Roadside Assistance Protection provides the renter with 24/7 roadside assistance, where available, without additional charge. RAP includes the following benefits: replacement of lost keys, including remote entry devices; flat tire service, If no inflated spare is available, the vehicle will be towed. The cost of replacement tire is not covered by RAP; lockout service, if keys are locked inside the vehicle; jumpstarts; fuel delivery service for up to 3 gallons, or equivalent liters, of fuel if vehicle is out of fuel. RAP services only are available in the United States and Canada. Roadside Assistance Protection is void and of no effect if, at the time of the incident necessitating roadside assistance, the renter or any authorized driver were in violation of the rental agreement, including, without limitation, the prohibited uses and violations set forth therein. In such cases, roadside assistance will be available, but standard charges may apply. In New York, California, Nevada and Kansas the cost of the key will not be covered, only the service to deliver the key or perform the lockout service will be covered. Roadside Assistance Protection at this location costs between $3.99 and $6.99.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) (Where available): If SLI is selected and paid for, Owner provides Renter or any AAD with third-party liability protection in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the Vehicle (the Primary Protection). SLI also provides additional third-party liability protection, through an excess liability policy, with limits of the difference between the Primary Protection and a combined single limit of $1 million per accident for bodily injury, death and/or property damage to others arising out of the use or operation of the Owner hire Vehicle by Renter or an AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. SLI includes Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) coverage for bodily injury and property damage in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the Vehicle (the Primary Protection), and additional coverage, through an excess liability policy, with limits for the difference between the statutory minimum underlying limits and $100,000 per accident (for hires commencing in New York, UM/UIM limits are $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; for hires commencing in Hawaii, the UM/UIM limits are $1,000,000 combined single limit) or state mandated UM/UIM limit, whichever is greater. OWNER AND RENTER REJECT ANY ADDITIONAL UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED MOTORIST (UM/UIM) COVERAGE TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. SLI, including UM/UIM benefits is provided only when Renter or any AAD are driving the Vehicle. No claim for UM/UIM may be made due to the negligence of the driver of the Vehicle.(Where available): If SLI is selected and paid for, Owner provides Renter or any AAD with third-party liability protection in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the Vehicle (the Primary Protection). If you or any driver operate the rental vehicle in the following areas, and generate an unpaid toll, you will be charged:
•TPD area (Northeast U.S. except MA): TollPass Transponder Service of $3.95 for each rental day plus the cost of all unpaid tolls. The maximum TollPass Device Charge for the rental period is $19.75, plus the cost of all unpaid tolls.
•TPD area (Massachusetts) – there is no option to pay cash on any Massachusetts toll road
Travel both within and outside of MA: TOLLPASS TRANSPONDER SERVICE of $3.95 for each rental day plus the cost of all unpaid tolls. The maximum TollPass Device Charge for the rental period is $19.75, plus the cost of all unpaid tolls.
Travel within MA only: TOLLPASS CONVENIENCE CHARGE of $3.95 for each day you use a toll road or bridge plus the cost of all unpaid tolls. The maximum TollPass Convenience charge for the rental period is $19.75, plus the cost of all unpaid tolls.
•TPW area (Chicago): Tollpass Transponder Service of $9.99 for each rental day at the airport locations and $7.99 for each rental day at all other participating locations. The cost of tolls is included in the daily charge.
•TCC area (Northern CA, CO, GA, FL, TX, NC, PR, WA in the U.S. / Toronto and Vancouver in Canada): TollPass Convenience Charge of $3.95 for each day you use a toll road or bridge plus the cost of all unpaid tolls. The maximum TollPass Device Charge for the rental period is $19.75, plus the cost of all unpaid tolls.
•TCC area (Southern CA): TollPass Convenience Charge of $3.95 for each day you use the 73, 133, 241 or 261 toll roads or bridges plus the cost of all unpaid tolls. The maximum TollPass Convenience Charge for the rental period is $19.75, plus the cost of all unpaid tolls.
