Pittsburgh Car Rental
Located at the confluence of the Ohio, Allegheny, and Monongahela Rivers, Pittsburgh is a majestic city that impresses nearly every business traveler who comes its way. Before you arrive, check out everything the city has to offer to create a fantastic itinerary.
Arriving in Pittsburgh
When you arrive at Pittsburgh International Airport, you need to check if you're at the Landside Terminal or the Airside Terminal. If you're at the Airside Terminal, take the underground people mover to the Landside Terminal, where you can find the baggage claim on the first floor. The National Car Rental counter is just footsteps away on the lower level of the parking garage providing easy pick-up and drop-off.
Downtown is about a 45-minute drive on I-376 depending on the severity of traffic. The 19-mile trek will land you at the city center, the heart of business, with plenty of activities for fun and adventure in Pittsburgh.
What to Do Around Town
When you're in Pittsburgh, don't miss out on the delicacies that have come to define much of the cuisine throughout the city. Pierogis are hot filled dumplings popular to the area that burst with flavor. Head to S&D Polish Deli in the Strip District to get the best ones in the city. If you're downtown for a meeting or need a power lunch, hop on over to Sanremo Pizza. Although it specializes in pizza, this restaurant has the famous Pittsburgh steak salad, a mélange of lettuce, steak, fried potatoes, and ranch dressing – quite the combination but delicious nonetheless.
While it's no longer specific to Pittsburgh, head to the original Primanti Bros. for their self-proclaimed "almost famous" sandwiches. Each sandwich is made with Italian bread, tomatoes, coleslaw, provolone cheese, meat of choice and fresh cut fries. I wonder what it is about western Pennsylvania and putting fries in unusual places. Whatever the case may be, it's delicious.
After scarfing down a few of these dishes during your stay, you're probably in need of some exercise. For spectacular urban views, take a run on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, which takes you right through the heart of the city. If that’s a little too much effort, take a leisure stroll through the Andy Warhol Museum and see some of the famous pop art from the iconic artist.
The City of Bridges also boasts some of the best professional sports in the country. In the fall, score some tickets to see the Steelers play at Heinz Field. Throughout the summer you can catch a Pirates game at PNC Park, and if you find yourself in looking for something to do in the cold of winter, embrace the season and watch the Penguins play at the PPG Paints Arena.
Getting Work Done in Pittsburgh
Situated right downtown and just over 19 miles from the airport is the David L.
